The Parish Outreach to Seniors Project connects isolated seniors to community volunteers who spend time with them in their home or community. Three Parishes in the Region of Peel have been running this initiative: St. Christopher’s in Mississauga, St. Patrick Wildfield in Brampton, and Holy Family in Bolton. Each Parish has trained volunteers who reach out to isolated and lonely seniors in their community, providing them with friendly visits, social support, and referrals to services they may need. Catholic Family Services of Peel Dufferin supports these Parishes in their endeavors to help seniors in need. This project is also taking place in Simcoe County in partnership with Catholic Family Services of Simcoe and is supported by the Archdiocese of Toronto, Catholic Charities and Sharelife.
