What is counselling?
Counselling is a collaborative process where clients and counsellors work together to address challenges and develop solutions. People seek counselling for a variety of reasons, and our goal is to provide a safe, supportive space for growth and healing.

How much does counselling cost?
The first walk-in counselling session is free. Fees may apply for ongoing counselling, but subsidies are available based on household income and the number of dependents. Additionally, some of our programs and groups are offered free of charge. For more information, please call us at 905-450-1608.
Is counselling covered by insurance/ OHIP?
Counselling services are not covered by OHIP. However, many private health insurance plans do cover counselling services. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage. Fees for counselling can also be subsidized based on household income and the number of dependents.
How long is the wait time?
There is no waitlist for our walk-in counselling clinic. Clients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis, though you may be asked to wait depending on availability. For ongoing counselling sessions after your initial walk-in, wait times may vary. Please ask your counsellor or intake worker for more details.
Can I walk in and see a counsellor right away?
Yes, walk-in counselling is available during our regular walk-in hours at both our Brampton and Mississauga locations. However, we highly recommend using our booking page to schedule an appointment in advance. This ensures you can meet with a counsellor at a time that works best for you. I’m interested but confused, how do I know that I picked the right program for me?
You only need to make one call to access services for yourself and your family. Our caseworkers are here to help you navigate your options and make the best choice for your needs. If you’re unsure which service is right for you, please call 905-450-1608 ext. 112 to speak with a caseworker.
Are there any forms I should fill out before coming?
If you’re attending the walk-in clinic, all necessary paperwork will be completed when you arrive. For programs like PAR or HEAL, please speak to a worker about any required documentation by calling 905-450-1608.
Do you have interpreters?
Our counselling services are available in English, French, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Mandarin, Polish, Punjabi, Spanish, Urdu, and Tamil. Interpreters for additional languages may also be available depending on the service or group type. For more information about language options, please call us at 905-450-1608.
Where can I park?
Free parking available on site at all our locations.
How can I help CFSPD do this work?
We are always happy to have members of the community support our agency and the services we provide. If you are able to do so, monetary donations are accepted and appreciated.
